The National park of Kirindy Mitea lies 90Km south from Morondava and next to Belo-sur-Mer on the western coast of Madagascar. It is opened to general public since 2006. More than 50 bird species can be observed through the spiny forest, coastal mangroves and lakes. To complete the list of the fauna, there are 11 mammal species including the Verraux Sifaka and ring tailed lemur, 10 species of amphibians, 20 species of reptiles and 90 species of butterflies. The fauna has three baobab species, and 7 mangrove species. Visitors can admire the underwater ecosystems nearby the 7 islands close to the park. During the hot rainy season from December to February, the temperature can reach 40°C.
